Creating a Map
The Maps editor provides a visual canvas where you can design architecture diagrams for your quotes.
Starting a new map
- Go to Maps in the sidebar.
- Click + New Map.
- Give your map a name (e.g., "Studio Capture Layout" or "Enterprise System Architecture").
- The canvas editor opens.
Using the canvas
The canvas is your workspace for designing the diagram:
- Add elements — Use the tools to add components, icons, and labels to your diagram.
- Arrange and position — Drag elements around the canvas to lay out your architecture.
- Zoom and pan — Use the zoom controls or scroll to navigate the canvas, especially for larger diagrams.
- Layers — Manage the layering of elements to control which items appear in front of or behind others.
Uploading images
You can upload custom images to use in your diagrams:
- Click the upload button in the canvas toolbar.
- Select an image file from your computer.
- Position and resize the image on the canvas.
This is useful for including product photos, logos, or custom graphics that aren't available as built-in elements.
Saving your map
Your map saves automatically as you work. You can also close the editor and come back to it later — your progress is always preserved.
Tips
- Keep it clear and readable. A good architecture diagram communicates the big picture without overwhelming detail.
- Use consistent styling across your maps so they look professional in every quote.
- Name your maps descriptively so you can quickly find the right one when building a quote.
