Item Details
Beyond the basic name, spec, and price, each item can have rich detail content — descriptions, images, and links. These details appear when your customer expands an item in the published quote, giving them more information about what they're getting.
Adding details to an item
- Open the item (either in the Items Library or within a quote editor).
- Look for the Details section below the basic item fields.
- You can add one or more detail entries, each consisting of:
Text description
Write a description that explains what the item is, what it does, or why it's valuable. This can be a paragraph or a few bullet points — whatever helps your customer understand the item.
Images
Upload images to visually showcase the item. This could be:
- Product photos
- Screenshots of software
- Diagrams or illustrations
- Specification sheets
You can add multiple images to a single detail entry.
Links
Add links to external resources — product pages, spec sheets, demo videos, or any other URL that's helpful for your customer. Links appear as buttons your customer can click to open in a new tab.
Multiple detail entries
You can add more than one detail entry per item. This is useful when you want to present different aspects of the item separately — for example:
- Overview — a general description with a product photo.
- Technical Specs — a detailed specification with a diagram.
- Case Study — a link to a customer success story.
How details appear to your customer
In the published quote, each item row can be expanded by clicking on it. When expanded, the customer sees all the detail entries you've added — text, images, and links — displayed in a clean, readable layout.
Your customer can also use the Expand All button to open all item details at once, or Collapse All to close them.
Tips
- Keep descriptions concise but informative. Your customer should be able to quickly understand what the item is and why it matters.
- Use images thoughtfully. A good product photo or diagram can communicate more than a paragraph of text.
- Link to supporting material rather than trying to cram everything into the detail text. If you have a detailed spec sheet or demo video, link to it.
