Publishing & Sharing
Once your quote is ready, you can publish it and share a link with your customer. Publishing creates a live version of the quote that your customer can access in their browser.
Publishing a quote
- When you're happy with your quote, click Publish & Share in the top-right corner of the editor.
- The quote's status changes from Draft to Live.
- A shareable link is generated (it looks like
https://quoteworks.app/q/EC-A3BK7M).
TIP
Publishing creates a snapshot of your quote. Any edits you make after publishing are saved as a draft — they won't appear in the live version until you publish again.
Setting a password
For security, every published quote is protected with a password. Your customer will need this password to view the quote.
- Generate a password — Quoteworks automatically creates a strong password when you first set up sharing.
- Copy the password — Click the copy button to copy just the password.
- Copy share info — Click to copy both the link and the password together, ready to paste into an email or message.
You can change the password at any time. If you do, the old password will stop working immediately.
Sharing with your customer
The simplest way to share a quote:
- Click Copy Share Info to copy the link and password.
- Paste it into an email or message to your customer.
- Your customer clicks the link, enters the password, and sees the full quote.
That's it — no account or software needed on their end.
Unpublishing
If you need to take a quote offline:
- Open the quote in the editor.
- Click the dropdown arrow next to the publish button.
- Select Unpublish.
The quote returns to Draft status. The share link will no longer work for your customer until you publish again.
Re-publishing after edits
If you've made changes to a published quote and want to update what your customer sees:
- Make your edits in the quote editor.
- Click Publish & Share again.
- The live version is updated with your latest changes.
The share link and password stay the same — your customer doesn't need a new link.
Custom domains
If your workspace has a custom domain set up, your quote links will use that domain instead of quoteworks.app. For example: https://quotes.yourcompany.com/q/EC-A3BK7M.
