Creating a Quote

There are two ways to start a new quote: from scratch or from a template.

Starting from scratch

  1. Click the + New Quote button. You'll find it in the sidebar or at the top of the quotes list.
  2. A blank quote editor opens immediately with a unique quote ID already assigned.
  3. Start filling in the details — customer info, header, sections, and items.

Starting from a Solution template

If your team has created Solutions (reusable templates), you can use one as a starting point:

  1. Click + New Quote.
  2. In the quote editor, click Import Solution (or use the solution picker if prompted).
  3. Choose the solution you want to use. All of its sections, items, pricing, highlights, and content will be copied into your new quote.
  4. Customize anything you need — change customer details, adjust quantities or pricing, add or remove items.

Starting from a template is a great way to keep your team's quotes consistent while saving time. See Using a Solution for more details.

The quote ID

Every quote gets a unique ID automatically (like EC-A3BK7M). This ID is used in the quote's share link and can be a handy reference when discussing quotes with your team or customers.

Saving your work

Quoteworks auto-saves your changes as you work. You'll see a small save indicator in the editor letting you know your latest changes have been saved. You can also click Save manually at any time.

TIP

A new quote starts as a Draft. It's only visible to you and your team until you choose to publish it. See Publishing & Sharing when you're ready to go live.
